Developer doubles housing at Ribble Valley site

Pringle Homes has been given the go-ahead for a 42-property development off Longsight Road in Langho in an updated planning permission after the developer argued previous proposals for the site were not deliverable.

The 13-acre greenfield plot originally secured planning consent for 18 houses, but after purchasing the site from its previous developer Hallam Land Management, Pringle Homes argued that, at less than four dwellings per hectare, the site was not deliverable nor was it an efficient use of the land.

This led the developer to bring forward a fresh application, which has now been given the go-ahead by Ribble Valley Council.

This features 29 detached homes together with 13 affordable homes, eight of which are bungalows. The land is in the draft settlement boundary of Langho, and is designated for housing under the local authority’s Core Strategy.

Mark Fleuriot, managing director at Pringle Homes, said “We pride ourselves in building homes using the best quality materials and delivering a high specification finish, as standard.  Much thought has gone into the design, practicality and functionality of these extra special homes and we are pleased to have gained the approval of Ribble Valley Borough Council.”

The professional team on the project includes Maybern Planning & Development, LMP Architects and, Mode Transport Planning.

The site previously had a major application refused, with an outline application for 132 houses knocked back by planning committee in November 2014.
