Prospect gets moving on 121 South Ribble homes
Work has started on the 14-acre plot off Myerscough Smithy Lane in the village of Mellor Brook, with the housebuilder hoping to commence sales of the first properties in December.
According to that timeline, the sales will start around a year after South Ribble councillors voted to approve the project.
The scheme has been christened Weaver’s Rise. It features a mix of 121 apartments, semi-detached, and detached houses with between one and four bedrooms. In fact, 78 will be three- or four-bed houses.
Of the 121 homes, 43 will be available for a 30% discount through registered provider Riverside.
The residences will be built using 14 different house types and over the course of four phases.
Michael Orgill, managing director at Prospect Homes said: “Breaking ground at Weaver’s Rise marks an exciting step forward for Prospect Homes.
“This development gives us a real opportunity to meet local housing needs and deliver high‑quality homes that will benefit the community for years to come.”
The planning team for the Prospect Homes scheme included Pegasus, E3P, SCP, PDA, and Golby and Luck. To view the application search 07/2025/00406/FUL on South Ribble Council’s planning portal.
