Breck picks up the pieces to complete 205 Winsford homes for Jigsaw

The developer stepped in to complete the Wharton Road scheme following the collapse of Lane End in 2022.

Breck Homes has now handed over 205 affordable homes in Winsford to registered provider Jigsaw.

Breck was awarded a £29m contract to deliver the scheme in October 2023 after Warrington-based Lane End went bust.

The development features a mix of one to four-bedroom houses and apartments for affordable rent, Rent-to-Buy, and shared ownership. The first homes wrapped up last year and the scheme is now complete.

Phil Dolan, managing director for Breck in the North West, said: “Seeing schemes like Wharton Road reach completion is a real reminder of why Breck exists – to transform communities across England by building high-quality affordable homes.

“Breck colleagues have been visiting the site regularly since handovers began early last year and it is heartening to see people and families move into these properties and make them their home. The completion of Wharton Road means we have now completed developments totalling almost 500 homes with Jigsaw across the North West.”

Breck Homes was established in Lancashire in 2020 and now has a live and future development pipeline of 2,200 affordable homes across the North.
