      About us

Place Media Group is the UK’s leading media house for the built environment. We publish daily news on the cities and regions of the North of England and the Midlands, and we run conferences and events that bring the property market together to learn and network. Our head office is in Manchester city centre.

We are known for our high-quality, detailed work in everything we do. We move at pace, work hard and expect high standards. We are looking for someone who wants to help drive the business forward.

      The role

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to grow audiences, engagement, and leads across our publications and events. You will own our marketing from planning through to delivery: writing the plans, creating the assets, sending the campaigns and reporting on what works.

This is a hands-on role with a lot of autonomy. You will be comfortable designing a social graphic or building an email in the morning, and presenting a campaign plan to senior managers in the afternoon.

You will need to have a positive, can-do attitude, bring ideas and drive the company forward with colleagues.

      What you will do:

      Plan and advise

      • Write marketing plans for our publications, events and commercial services, with clear objectives, channels, budgets and measures of success
      • Advise senior managers on positioning and new ideas to keep our marketing fresh
      • Report regularly on performance and return on investment

      Email and mailers

      • Write, design and send email campaigns promoting our events, publications and services
      • Look after our mailing lists, test subject lines and content to improve results, and set up automatic follow-up emails for new enquiries and event registrations.

      Social media and design

      • Run paid and organic social campaigns on LinkedIn
      • Design social graphics, video reels and ad variants, plus print and event materials such as brochures, flyers, sales packs and digital screens

      Events and partnerships

      • Lead the marketing for each of our events, from launch to follow-up
      • Create bespoke campaigns for industry organisations and partners in the private and public sectors
      • Build relationships with developers, agents, investors and other key figures in real estate

      Data and AI

      • Track results using GA4, platform analytics and our CRM, and turn the data into clear recommendations
      • Use generative AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to speed up copywriting, testing and reporting

      About you

      Essential

      • 3+ years in marketing in an agency, media or publishing environment
      • Experience writing, designing and sending email campaigns
      • Strong design skills in Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator or Figma
      • Experience running paid and organic social campaigns, including LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Meta Ads Manager
      • Confident with GA4 and able to present results clearly
      • Practical experience using generative AI in your daily work
      • Able to manage several projects at once and work well to tight deadlines

      Desirable

      • Experience in real estate, property or B2B events
      • Marketing automation experience
      • Video or reels editing

      What we offer

      • Salary of £30,000 – £40,000 plus an annual performance bonus
      • A central Manchester workspace
      • A dedicated training budget to keep building your skills
      • 23 days holiday per year, plus Christmas week off and bank holidays
      • Travel to work subsidy up to £1,000 a year
      • Mobile phone paid for up to £60 a month
      • Company matching pension scheme
      • Option to work from home twice a week where suitable, after initial training period in the office
      • Employee-owned business – benefit from influence in the business’s direction and income tax-free bonuses depending on the company’s performance. Note that employee-ownership does not require any financial contribution from you
      • Regular industry networking events and team socials
