Vistry secures £28m contract for 126 Preston homes

The housebuilder has won the tender to deliver a neighbourhood for local housing provider Community Gateway Association, the largest social landlord in Preston.

Having won the £28m contract, Vistry is set to begin the 126-home first phase of the Tabley Lane masterplan with completion eyed by 2026.

Preston-based CGA was given consent in December 2021 by Preston City Council for two separate applications, comprising up to 233 homes over two parcels of land off Tabley Lane.

The 22-acre mixed-tenure Tabley Lane masterplan has been designed by Levitt Bernstein and was formalised in 2022.

Outline consent for housing has been held at the site since 2018. PWA Planning assisted CGA with its applications to the city council.

Zac Worthington, managing director of Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West, said: “We’re delighted CGA has chosen to work with us for the first time on this exciting scheme in Preston.

“Working together, we can deliver a significant number of homes for local people in a range of housing choices.”

Stephen Galbrath, head of development and regeneration at CGA, added: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Vistry on this development, which will bring much-needed, high-quality homes to Preston.

“This partnership reflects our corporate priority of offering a wider choice of affordable housing and supporting our ongoing commitment to meet local housing needs.”

The two applications can be viewed using 06/2024/0271 and 06/2021/1226 on Preston City Council’s planning portal.
