ECF resi clears Gateway 2 hurdle
To be delivered by Domis Construction, Plot A1 at New Bailey in Salford will be the final residential part of the Salford Central masterplan, bringing 189 affordable apartments across 21 storeys.
Domis said it looks forward to starting construction in the coming weeks and bringing a new project, set to be 100% affordable, to life.
Designed by Hawkins\Brown, the scheme was cleared by Salford City Council’s planning committee in May last year, but as a tall building in the post-Grenfell era, must be given Building Safety Regulator clearance before building work proper can begin. Enabling works started in May.
The project team also includes Renaissance Associates, NOVO Integration, Design Fire Consultants, Andrew Jameson, Wright Landscapes. In relation to the Gateway 2 pocess, Domis is building regulations principal designer.
The plot is set between Trinity Way and Stanley Street, and will include one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
As described by Place when the planning consent was granted, the plot in question is located among five other apartment blocks comprising 831 flats; the three that make up Slate Yard, as well as the 23-storey Novella, and the 22-storey scheme at Plot C2.
Development of this plot will take the number of apartments in this area of the masterplan beyond 1,000.
