Mace wins £24m Cheshire Oaks expansion

Mace is targeting a December 2018 completion date for a 25,000 sq ft extension of the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in Ellesmere Port after being chosen as main contractor by TH Real Estate.

Mace will work alongside McArthur Glen, operator of Cheshire Oaks, which will act in a development management role for the extension.

The £23.8m extension will add more than 25,000 sq ft to Cheshire Oaks, including additional retail units, a visitor centre, expanded public realm, and more car parking facilities.

Mace has won the deal through its Leeds-based office, and is aiming to deliver the project by the end of the year.

Plans were submitted for the project in 2016 and approved in February 2017. Alongside Mace, the professional team includes Leonard Design Architects and Turley as planner.

Adrian Yates, development manager at TH Real Estate, said: “The further development of the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet will provide a boost for the local area, helping to enable sustainable economic growth and specifically, our further investment will deliver a very meaningful enhancement to the facilities and retail experience for customers.

“We are looking forward to working with Mace over the coming year to deliver this significant scheme.”

Mace regional director Neil Hennessey added: “We’re very proud to be appointed to deliver the extension of Cheshire Oaks.

“It’s a great win for the Leeds based regional team at Mace, and we are looking forward to working with the local community to deliver tremendous benefits for the wider area as a whole. We are excited to be a part of this prestigious and complex scheme.”
