EG on the Move lines up more roadside retail

Plans have been lodged for 11,000 sq ft off Haslingden Road in the firm’s Blackburn heartland.

The central plank of the project is a 4,500 sq ft convenience retail unit, with five smaller units accompanying. There will be 50 car parking spaces added to what is currently a grassland site.

Barrowclough Architects has designed the scheme, which if permitted will be built on a site around half a mile from Junction 5 of the M65, close to the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

EPS, Dragonfly Consulting and Dynamic Transport Planning are all on the professional team.

Described in Barrowclough’s planning, design & access statement as “infill,” the site is included in Blackburn with Darwen’s local plan as appropriate for mixed-use development, given its proximity to residential, commercial and health buildings.

The scheme’s documentation can be viewed on BwD Council’s planning portal, using the reference 10/26/0291.
