Wood joins Wain Group as MD

Jim Wood has stepped into the newly created role of group managing director.

He joins Wain Group having most recently worked for Barratt London, where he was managing director between May 2020 and December 2022. Wood also spent six years as group MD at Weston Homes.

In his new role, Wood will oversee the group’s operations including the day-to-day management of housebuilder Wain Homes, which will launch 16 new resi developments across the UK this year.

“I was looking for the right role with the right people and found it with the Wain Group,” Wood said.

“It is an exciting time to have joined the company, which has been transformed under Will Ainscough’s leadership, with an impressive portfolio, clear strategy for sustainable growth and a real commitment to quality placemaking.”

Wood joins the board alongside executive chairman Will Ainscough, finance director Andy Campbell, legal director Nina Chesworth, and non-exec director Iain Slater.

Ainscough said: “Jim’s wide-ranging experience will be hugely beneficial as we continue to develop the full potential of the group and drive the high standards at Wain Homes. which has just achieved five-star builder status.”
