The housebuilder has secured approval for a 50-home sustainable scheme in Edenfield after the eight-acre plot was acquired from Peel Land.

A housing mix of semi, detached, and apartments offering two one-, 14 two-, eight three-, 22 four-, four and five-bedroom homes has been proposed in plans submitted to Rossendale Council by Northstone.

Car parking facilities, amenity areas, a community garden, and a fully equipped all-ages playground all would feature if plans are approved.

Of the 50 homes, 15 are to be affordable rented housing, with a registered housing provider already lined up.

Craig Nutter, managing director, Northstone, said: “We are proud to be delivering a scheme that is not only architecturally considered, but genuinely community-focussed and environmentally responsible.

“Our vision for Edenfield is to provide bespoke homes that respect and enhance the local character, while also delivering tangible benefits for existing residents and future generations.”

Richard Knight, director of planning and strategy, Peel Land, added: “We are really pleased that Northstone’s plans will now move into delivery, bringing a wide range of community and environmental benefits, delivering on the approved Edenfield masterplan, and creating a positive legacy for the local area.”

“architecturally considered” says Nutter. Maybe if it was being built in soviet russia. . .

As a local resident noting that they are building on fields next to the school the development is neither sustainable or community focused !
