Liverpool to London passengers to get new Virgin lounge

A second phase of improvement works inside Liverpool's Lime Street Station will include a new information centre and ticket office for Virgin's Pendolino service to London.

The new Virgin facility will be built between platforms 7 and 8, relocating from its current cramped office nearby.

Other works, funded by Merseytravel, will be aimed at improving pedestrian flows and access to car parking. The works are set to be completed by May 2008.

Phase one of the internal works completed over the summer, and involved replacing wall tiles dating back to the post-War era on the southern concourse, improvements to the short stay car park, taxi rank and new flooring throughout much of the station.
