Tŷ AVOW plans for Wrexham HQ to grow to 10,100 sq ft
An extension to the 1890s building at 21 Egerton Street would see the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham able to host lectures, yoga classes, and other events.
Designed by Lawray Architects, the 3,000 sq ft extension would stretch across two storeys at the rear of the historic structure. The building would host a flex communal space as well as meeting rooms and welfare facilities.
To make the extension possible, a 1,100 sq ft single-storey rear extension will be demolished.
While the extension is being built, AVOW will undertake a series of renovations to the existing headquarters. These will be done to increase the sustainability credentials of the building and improve its circulation flow. Among the proposals awaiting Wrexham County Council approval are pitches to install air source heat pumps and solar panels, improve accessibility measures, and add more toilets.
When all the work is complete, 21 Egerton Street will be 10,100 sq ft.
Assisting Lawray Architects on the job are Enfys Ecology, Environoise, Metro Rod, and JPS.
