Davis Blank Furniss appoints partner

Seán Hackett has joined the law firm to lead its five-strong property litigation team, having spent the last year as head of real estate litigation at Stamford Legal.

Hackett brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate litigation, landlord and tenant litigation, and advisory work to the partner role at Davis Blank Furniss, with specialisms including development site constraints and disputes as well as professional negligence claims.

Previously, Hackett held the position of head of the property litigation department at Myerson Solicitors, and before that was a director in Pannone Corporate’s property litigation team.

In his new role at Davis Blank Furniss, Hackett will be based primarily out of the company’s Salford office but will also offer his services out of the firm’s Glossop base.

He will work closely with the wider property group, which includes managing partner Richard Hamilton and commercial property partner Rosie Korcz, as well as the dispute resolution team.

Hackett said: “The firm’s list of commercial clients is impressive and its reputation, particularly within the property industry, is well known.”

Hamilton added: “Seán is a fantastic addition to the firm – his reputation and technical excellence are well known in the property sector.

“His strong understanding of what clients’ commercial needs are and his ability to add value is what sets him apart from others.”

Established in Glossop in 1877, Davis Blank Furniss expanded to open a Manchester office in the 1930s. The company relocated in 2020 from its Deansgate base to its current office at Deva City off Trinity Way in Salford.
