DPD signs for 35,600 sq ft in Bredbury
Hollins Murray Group has let the former Rodgers Wholesale Foods unit off Horsfield Way to the delivery outfit.
DPD has signed a five-year lease on the 35,600 sq ft Carrs House after Rodgers Wholesale Foods relocated to Park Gate Close elsewhere within Bredbury Industrial Estate.
Louise Ferguson, head of property at DPD UK, explained the rationale behind the deal.
“Bredbury is a fantastic location for us with great access to labour and the motorway network,” she said.
“As we continue to see strong demand for DPD’s seven day a week, next day delivery service, Carrs House gives us the additional capacity we need in this area ahead of what is likely to be a record peak period, and for the next few years too.”
The letting follows a package of refurbishment works that included a new roof and resin floor.
Josh Moores, head of leasing and asset management at HMG, said: “We’re delighted to welcome DPD to Carrs House.
“Securing a covenant of DPD’s strength so soon after the building came back to us is a strong result, and it shows how well-located stock in Bredbury continues to perform.”
B8RE and Williams Sillitoe acted as joint agents for HMG. SBH acted for DPD.
HMG has a portfolio of around 50 assets, mainly in the North West and worth a combined £110m.
