Orka moves to add 10 storeys to Salford PBSA
Riverside House off Blackfriars Road is to be expanded by 98 units under plans lodged with the city council.
London-based Orka Investments wants to build a 10-storey block off St Simon Street next to the existing Salford student asset.
Designed by Jefferson Sheard Architects, the block would take the total number of student rooms at Riverside House to 350. There are currently 242 in the existing five-storey block, which was constructed in 2013.
The proposals feature around 5,000 sq ft of amenity space for residents, including a rooftop terrace with views of the Irwell, which flows past the site to the north.
