Two associates join How

The planning and environmental consultancy has appointed Emma Jones and Andrew Johnston to associate positions in Manchester.

Jones joins from GL Hearn where she spent nine years as planning associate director. Past clients include Prospect, Travis Perkins, Severn Trent Water, Casey Group and Tesco. She will be working in partner Richard Barton’s team of eight, focusing on several Greater Manchester Spatial Framework sites and work for a number of housebuilders including Linden Homes and Taylor Wimpey.

Johnston was associate director at Indigo Planning for six years and advised on residential, commercial and education projects for clients, including Legal & General, Mansion Group, Northern Trust and Seddon Homes. Johnston will work with partner Neil Lucas in a team of seven on city centre projects in Manchester and Liverpool.

The two hires bring the number of associates at How up to four, and the total in the Peter Street team to more than 30.

Managing partner Gary Halman said: “Both Emma and Andrew bring with them a wealth of experience and excellent client relationships which will further strengthen our resources and prove invaluable as we take on a number of major new assignments in the coming months.”
