Seybourne buys 12 acres in Runcorn
The industrial specialist has exchanged contracts with a quartet of private landowners for a site off the A557 Weston Point Expressway and is planning to build 225,000 sq ft of warehouse and distribution facilities.
Seybourne has submitted plans for its 12-acre scheme, branded The Pavilions, to Halton Council.
The project comprises one large unit spanning 172,000 sq ft and another that is 51,000 sq ft. The scheme is aiming to be net zero in operation, according to the developer.
Subject to planning approval, construction is expected to start in January 2026 with completion in early autumn.
Seybourne director Peter Taylor said: “This planning application is a major milestone towards delivering Grade A warehousing in a key North West market.
“The development will present a best-in-class scheme where demand remains buoyant and with very little development of this scale in the last few years for Runcorn.”
LM6 and Newmark are the letting agents for the scheme and Carrick RE is the funding agent.
Elsewhere in Merseyside, Seybourne is development 245,000 sq ft of industrial space at at Image Business Park in Knowsley. The developer was recently appointed by Liverpool City Council to deliver a 100,000 sq ft project at Stonebridge Business Park.

Will there be jobs available

This is a ridiculous proposal.
To put a massive warehouse in the middle of this housing estate with all the associated heavy traffic and pollution. This area has already had to put up with the Viridor plant and the associated adverse effects.
When the plans were submitted for this plant it showed a lovely building surrounded by trees and lawns. In the actuality not one tree and not one blade of grass.
HBC should not allow this development.
