X1 student scheme completes in Salford

Developer X1 and its investment consultancy partner Knight Knox have announced the completion of phase one at X1 The Campus, adjacent to the University of Salford’s Frederick Road campus.

Students are due to arrive from this Friday ahead of the new academic year. The scheme represents X1’s eighth student accommodation development in the North West.

Valued at £24.7m, the development consists of two blocks containing a combined 271 apartments, including large studios and premium upper floor units. The development includes a landscaped garden, communal lounges, a gym, cinema room, secure bicycle storage and underground car parking spaces for select apartments.

Andy Phillips, commercial director at Knight Knox, said: “We are extremely pleased by the completion of X1 The Campus Phase 1, our latest student accommodation development. The University of Salford is popular with students from around the world and all of them need high quality rental accommodation during the course of their studies.

“We are confident that the location of X1 The Campus will make it a popular option for students looking to be close to the university but also within easy reach of Manchester city centre and Salford Quays.”

Phase two of X1 The Campus, which will comprise 76 apartments and has a value of £7m, is also sold out and construction is scheduled to begin soon.

Any joy the riders might experience would be sucked out of them by the design of this development
