Master Removers signs 120,000 sq ft Golborne pre-let

The removals, storage and logistics firm has signed a 15-year lease for a distribution facility on Bridge Street, which is being delivered by Rula Developments for landlord Urban Logistics REIT.

Master Removers Group is relocating its logistics operations from its current warehouse at Eagle Park, a move that will see the company expand its footprint threefold.

Rula is redeveloping the seven-acre former Alpa UK site on Bridge Street into a 120,000 sq ft modern industrial unit.

Plans for the scheme were approved by Wigan Council last year before Urban Logistics agreed a forward funding deal for the development, worth around £13m.

Colliers acted for Master Removals, which will pay £7.75/ sq ft for the unit once work completes this autumn.

“Industrial and logistics supply in the North West region is at a very critical level and the high level of demand in a depleted supply environment has caused strong rental growth,” said John Sullivan, director of industrial and logistics at Manchester’s Colliers office.

“Given the limited amount of industrial stock available, it was great to secure this opportunity before it hit the market.”

Charles Richards, director at Master Removers Group added: “Our specialist logistics business Bishopsgate has gone through an unprecedented period of organic growth over the last two years and the opening of our largest warehouse to date will help sustain this growth trend over the next 12 to 24 months.”
