Lloyds to buy 223 Merseyside homes

The banking group’s private rental and shared ownership division has agreed a forward contract with Barratt Redrow to acquire the homes, which are due to be delivered by 2029.

Lloyds Living declined to share the exact locations of the 223 Merseyside homes.

The Merseyside residences are part of a wider 980-home portfolio deal between Lloyds Living and Barratt Redrow. The agreement spans 14 developments in Nottinghamshire, East Anglia, West Midlands, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, as well as Merseyside.

Housing developments will all be EPC B or above and be situated in areas with high rental accommodation demand, good transport links, strong nearby schools, and access to employment opportunities.

The homes themselves will range from having one to four bedrooms. They will all be delivered between now and the end of 2029, with the first to complete being located at Hampton Beach in Peterborough.

With this latest portfolio acquisition, the number of homes Lloyds Living has acquired from Barratt Redrow has surpassed 3,000. Lloyds Living’s overall portfolio is now more than 8,850 homes.

Matt Burgess, chief executive of Lloyds Living, said that Barratt Redrow was the division’s largest strategic partnership.

“Working together we are helping bring more homes to the market sooner – enabling more people to find the homes they want in places they want to live and work,” Burgess said.

“We continue to grow our portfolio of rental and shared ownership homes with quality properties offering the features people expect, professionally managed by us to deliver the service they expect.”

For his part, Barratt Redrow chief operating officer Mike Roberts said: “We are delighted to further strengthen our strategic partnership with Lloyds Living, working together to accelerate the delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient homes across the country.

“As well as increasing the supply of much-needed new homes, our long-term partnership helps create greater choice for customers seeking professionally managed rental and shared ownership homes in well-connected, sustainable communities.”

Recent Barratt Redrow projects in the North West include plans for 300 homes in Wirral, 2,1500 homes at Godley Green, and 85 homes in Nantwich.

Isn’t Godley Green Tameside and MADE partnership. I thought that was separate from BarrattRedrow – not to mention David Wilson and Gladman…

By Point of order

MADE Partnership is a JV between Barratt Redrow, Lloyds, and Homes England.

surely this is a conflict of interests to public uk as banks are sole provider of financial services to first time home buyers along other buyers – At what point would it be more proffitable for them to buy a property rather than the public (first time buyer) they should be serving. This should be illegal like in USA
