A gym, arcade, and wine bar are also among the new additions coming to Whitehouse Leisure Park in Towyn, following the county council’s green light.

Holiday park owner and operator SF Parks has received planning permission to create a new leisure hub at its Conwy site, replacing the existing facility there.

On the ground floor guests will find 2,800 sq ft of bar and restaurant space, leading outside to a beach bar and DJ booth.

Moving up to the first floor, visitors will be able to enjoy a 200 sq ft cinema, 500 sq ft gym, and 600 sq ft wine bar. There will also be a 700 sq ft arcade and 200 sq ft soft play area.

AK Architects designed the scheme, which will also see the park’s family restaurant, Jakes, receive a 600 sq ft extension. Renovations will provide lift access to the building’s upper floor.

Owen Devenport is planning consultant for the scheme. Weetwood is consulting on flooding, and The Wildlife Trust on biodiversity.

Approval for the leisure hub follows permission granted for a 10.5-metre-tall high ropes course at Whitehouse Leisure Park in January.

SF Parks owns five holiday parks in North Wales, including the Golden Gate Holiday Centre also in Towyn.

The Golden Gate Holiday Centre is currently the subject of separate proposals, with a consultation coming soon over plans for the creation of a rooftop bar and bowling alley there.

Jonathan Seldon, director at SF Parks, said: “We are always looking at the bigger picture and want to expand in the future, while at the same time building on the overall customer experience and developing our identity as one of the region’s top hospitality and tourism operators.”

The company’s other director, Oliver Seldon, added: “As Whitehouse and Golden Gate are so close it makes sense for them to become more integrated, so owners can enjoy these improved facilities long-term.”

Thanks for reading. All the figures are indeed sq ft, not sq m.
