City & Cheshire buys Didsbury Point plot from Countryside JV

City & Cheshire Properties has acquired a site for an amenity centre on Didsbury Point, South Manchester, from Countryside Properties and Liberty Property Trust.
To be called The Point, the 6,500 sq ft building will provide on-site retail and restaurant facilities, with office accommodation on the first floor. Development is expected to be completed in 2009.
The Point will sit on the iCO 1 Business Community part of the wider redevelopment of the 32-acre former Withington Hospital site, where 375 homes have already been completed and 238,125 sq ft of office accommodation is under construction.
