Blackburn Barnfield JV to sell Mill Bank land

Hippo Vehicle Solutions is to acquire a site at the Lower Darwen complex, which is earmarked for a 35,000 sq ft industrial unit.

Hippo, which provides car finance and leasing services, is currently based at Trident Park in Blackburn.

Blackburn with Darwen Council, which owns a 25% stake in the Blackburn Barnfield joint venture, will meet later this week to approve the sale of plot four within the Mill Bank masterplan.

The site is located on Greenbank Terrace and Milking Lane, just off Junction 4 M65, and was acquired by the partnership in 2019.

Local Enterprise Partnership funding was secured the same year for a new road linking Greenbank Terrace to Milking Lane opening up the site.

Trevor Dawson and Taylor Weaver are the joint agents for the project.

Last year Elan Homes acquired an 8.6-acre site from Blackburn Barnfield nearby and is planning to deliver 76 homes.
