CMap signs for 9,000 sq ft at Manchester’s Arkwright House

Hillcrest PERE is due to welcome the software developer to the building this summer.

CMap will relocate its Manchester office from WeWork on John Dalton Street to 9,000 sq ft on the sixth floor of Arkwright House.

Jon Stead, chief executive at CMap, said: “As CMap continues to scale, it was important that we invested in a long-term home that reflects both our ambition and our culture.

“Arkwright gives us the space, quality and flexibility to grow together as a team, while creating an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work, collaborating and delivering for our customers.”

Colliers advised CMap and Edwards Property advised Hillcrest PERE, the JV between between Sun Capital Partners and Deva Capital that took ownership of the 95,000 sq ft building in 2024.

The building, constructed in 1937, fronts Parsonage Gardens and is home to flex space provider Orega, Ramboll, and San Carlo.

The CMap deal follows the refurbishment of 53,000 sq ft of space within the building, the addition of a gym, and the appointment of Falcon Rock as asset manager.

Jamie Mount, invesement director at Hilcrest PERE, said: “We are delighted to have agreed a letting to CMap at Arkwright House.

“Working with our expert designers and delivery team we are now creating a bespoke, fully furnished office of almost 9,000 sq ft exactly as a fast-growth business requires and look forward to welcoming them to Arkwright in July.”

Jonathan Cook, director at Colliers, added: “We are proud to act on behalf of CMap in securing their next office, delivering a workplace solution aligned with their brand, operational requirements, and future ambitions.

“Such a fast-growth business required a proactive landlord with best-in-class space to attract the very best talent”.
