TLT expands Manchester construction team

The law firm has appointed Jahanara Hussain as partner as it continues to expand its offering in the city.

Hussain joins as a projects, infrastructure and construction lawyer and her appointment comes after TLT hired Sean McCay as head of construction in Manchester last year.

Hussain, who is a transactional construction specialist, joined TLT from BLM Law where she spent the last six years, having previously worked at Eversheds.

Her appointment also supports TLT’s recent appointment to the North West Legal Consortium legal services framework.

Hussain has advised on several projects in the higher education, residential and retail sectors, as well as network distribution centre schemes and local infrastructure fund projects throughout her 22-year career.

In her new role, she will advise private and public sector clients including developers, contractors, consultants and funders.

Graeme Orchison, location head for TLT in Manchester, said: “TLT is looking to deepen its capabilities across the full-service team in Manchester. This rapid expansion of key service lines is critical to support our key priority sectors.

“We see immediate opportunities to support our clients with their growth plans and construction requirements in the coming months.”

Hussain added: “TLT has incredible strength in depth across its practice areas, which makes it a unique proposition in construction.

“The firm has been going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to playing a key role in our future growth.”
