AG swoops on Shoosmiths again
For the second time in recent months, law firm Addleshaw Goddard has poached a real estate partner from its rival, with Kirsty Chalkley joining the Manchester office.
Chalkley – whose arrival follows that of Kirsty Black – spent close to 15 years with Shoosmiths. AG said she brings extensive experience advising developers and occupiers across the later living, hotels and hospitality sectors.
She is described as a highly regarded transactional real estate development specialist with deep expertise in site acquisitions, disposals, pre-let and forward funded developments, turnkey agreements and portfolio management.
Iain Hindhaugh, head of transactional real estate at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “Kirsty joining our Real Estate team is another great strategic hire for us in Manchester.
“Her deep knowledge of the Living Sector and Hotels & Leisure markets, combined with her energy, leadership and commitment to excellent client service, make her an exceptional addition to our practice. Kirsty brings further strength to our areas of strategic focus and will play a key role in supporting our continued growth.”
Kirsty Chalkley, partner at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “It is incredibly exciting to join such a vibrant team with an inimitable reputation and genuine ambition. I am very much looking forward to getting stuck in, contributing to the further growth and success of both Addleshaw Goddard’s Manchester team and the firm’s Living team.”
Across the firm, AG has welcomed 43 lateral partner hires over the past year, with the real estate team accounting for 12 of those appointments.
The firm’s total partner headcount now amounts to 465 across 21 offices. AG’s real estate team now comprises 78 partners worldwide and a total headcount of 400.
