Taylor Wimpey lines up another 582 Halsnead homes

Two sites totalling 42 acres north of the M62 in Knowsley are earmarked for a mix of house types as the 1,600-home garden village continues to come forward.

Taylor Wimpey is preparing a single planning application for 582 homes across the two sites. The 20-acre plot 2b, west of Fox’s Bank Lane, would feature 225 houses, 157 apartments for elderly people across two buildings, and 4,000 sq ft of retail.

Plot 3, immediately north of the motorway, would feature another 200 houses.

The projects are anticipated to complete by 2036, according to planning documents.

Pegasus is advising Taylor Wimpey on the plans and has submitted an EIA Scoping Report to the local council.

The next phase of homes follows consents for various other schemes at Halsnead Garden Village, including another 350 Taylor Wimpey properties and 330 from Bloor Homes that are currently under construction, 377 from Your Housing Group and another 120 from Vistry also have consent but have not yet started on site.

South of the M62, Tritax Symmetry has permission for a 1m sq ft of industrial space.

I hope there’s going to be a straight walking/cycling route to Whiston railway station (say 600m) I wonder, instead of being forced to drive to it (over 1.2km away)…

This is really good. It is a welcome development. I think they should prioritise wider access roads and parking in the proposed aesthetic design. This is because cities expand, population grows, hence, more needs. A narrow road will be difficult to expand. The same goes for parking. I hope this helps 😀
