St Helens to offload vacant land for resi development
Slightly more than two acres off Banner Street and Glover Street is to be sold, with housing the council’s preferred use for the site.
St Helens Council is now inviting bids for the site, which used to house a church and terraced houses.
The freehold of the L-shaped plot is being offered up to interested parties, who have until 18 September to submit bids. The site is located between a residential area to the south and abuts Linkway West Retail Park to the north.
A St Helens Borough Council spokesperson said: “This site is identified in St Helens Borough Council’s Brownfield Land Register and is considered suitable for housing development. It presents an exciting investment opportunity in a highly accessible location close to St Helens town centre.
“Having remained vacant for several years, the land offers significant potential for redevelopment and investment, with excellent access to local amenities, transport links, retail destinations and educational facilities.”

This land is advertised NR to facilitie.s, that’s if you can find any to go to. As there’s very little left. And the roads are now gridlocked most days.
