Buntin steps up at Liverpool City Region

Paul Buntin has been promoted to interim director of regeneration and housing at the combined authority after four years as head of development.

He first joined the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in 2019 as an investment manager. He was promoted to head of development in 2022.

Prior to the LCRCA, Buntin worked at Merseytravel for eight years.

In his new role, which is a newly created one, he will lead on the development and delivery of the city region’s pipeline of housing and regeneration projects across the city region.

Buntin will work with the city region’s six local authorities, registered providers, and private sector partners “to shape policy, unlock investment, and accelerate the delivery of high-quality housing developments”, the combined authority said.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed into this role and look forward to helping deliver the Local Growth Plan, with housing a critical component of a successful, thriving economy and making a difference to the people who live and work in the region.”

Tim Games, executive director of investment and delivery, said: “Paul brings a wealth of experience, a strong understanding of the combined authority’s priorities and an impressive track record of delivering complex programmes and securing investment.

“He has already made a significant contribution to the organisation and I am delighted that he will be leading our housing and regeneration team over the coming year.”
