Retailers sign up to St Modwen regeneration scheme

St Modwen is celebrating a number of deals at the £2.2m Haletop East extension to Haletop Parade, within its £100m regeneration of Wythenshawe town centre, south Manchester.

Seven shops totalling 8,361 sq ft and four office suites providing 6,546 sq ft of accommodation will comprise the latest phase of new commercial facilities within the centre, due open in mid-December.

Betfred Bookmakers is leasing a 1,300 sq ft unit, Debonair Childrenswear is renting 1,100 sq ft and Harvey and Thompson, jewellers and pawnbrokers, is taking 1,140 sq ft. The units are all let on 10-15 year leases at rents from £22/sq ft to £25/ sq ft.

Stephen Knowles of St Modwen, said: "In addition to the three lettings, we have a further four of the retail units under offer and anticipate that the majority of the retail space will be let before the scheme is completed in December. Four new office suites will also be completed shortly which will provide ideal space for small businesses looking for the right image."

St Modwen is behind several North West schemes including the Great George Street retail development in Liverpool, Widnes Waterfront and Avro Park in Trafford.

The office units at Haletop are available on occupational terms at £10/sq ft.

Acting for St Modwen are Johnson Fellows and Colliers CRE.
