Business Rates Referencer

An exceptional opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Rates Referencer in Liverpool.

This role can be considered on either a full time or part time basis, so could be an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking potentially for a better work life balance, or to possibly fit in with existing family commitments where part time hours would be of benefit.

As an experienced Business Rates Referencer, your role will include,

• Property Inspection: Visiting commercial properties to assess their physical characteristics and dimensions.
• Measurement and Data Collection: Accurately record property dimensions and gathering other relevant data.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed and accurate records of property measurements and other information.
• Liaison with VOA: Interacting with the Valuation Office Agency, to ensure consistency and accuracy in assessments.
• Supporting Appeals: Assisting in the preparation of documentation and providing support for business rates appeals.
• Understanding Legislation: Keeping up-to-date with relevant business rates legislation and case law.

As the successful Business Rates Referencer you will have

• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in property measurements and data recording.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, legislation, and case law.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients, colleagues, and the VOA.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to business rates assessments.
• Experience in Business Rates: Experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Rating Legislation: Understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
