Growing beauty gadget firm triples footprint at Alderley Park
The Beauty Tech Group has taken an extra 11,000 sq ft at Bruntwood SciTech’s Cheshire campus as demand for its products soars.
TBTG, which owns brands including CurrentBody Skin, known for gadgets like the LED light therapy masks, has called Alderley Park’s Glasshouse its home for the last five years.
In 2020, the firm took 5,000 sq ft in the building on a 10-year lease but has now signed up for 16,000 sq ft to accommodate up to 200 staff.
Laurence Newman, chief executive of The Beauty Tech Group, said: “As an industry leader in home-use beauty technology, it is important that our headquarters reflects our cutting-edge products backed by science.
“Since moving to Glasshouse at Alderley Park, the group has continued to develop and it was an easy decision to find a larger space for our growing teams. Whilst we are a truly international business with offices in the US and China, Glasshouse at Alderley Park is our HQ and I am delighted to be committing to the future here.”
Sam Birtwistle, senior commercial manager at Bruntwood SciTech, said:
“The Beauty Tech Group’s growth at Alderley Park is a great example of what providing a supportive, collaborative ecosystem can do for scaling innovative businesses.
“The campus offers a home for companies of all sizes and sectors with bold ambitions across its 1m sq ft of workspace, with the infrastructure and support to help them meet their goals.”
Glasshouse, which opened in February 2020, forms part of Bruntwood SciTech’s £247m investment in the 400-acre Alderley Park, previously home to pharmaceuticals giant AstraZeneca before developer Bruntwood bought the site for around £40m in 2014.
Bruntwood SciTech is a joint venture between Bruntwood, the Greater Manchester Pension Fund, and Legal & General.
