JOB: Development Executive, Cheshire East Council

Unlock the development potential of Cheshire East and make your mark. Establishing a team of professionals, you'll lead a portfolio of ambitious development and regeneration projects across East Cheshire to deliver economic growth and release value for the council.

This is a high-profile opportunity for an experienced property professional who has a track record of delivering large scale development schemes and building partnerships with developers.

Terms & conditions will be negotiable for the right person and we are willing to consider both direct employment and contract for service options at this stage. While this role will require significant commitment we will also consider flexible working arrangements.

An asset-rich local authority, Cheshire East Council wants to foster and promote economic growth and development through working proactively with developers and undertaking direct investment.

You'll help us develop and realise our ambitions and will be crucial to accelerating delivery and delivering jobs and new homes across East Cheshire.

You will build on active developer interest in our towns – ranging from our largest centres of Crewe and Macclesfield through to medium-sized towns such as Wilmslow, Congleton and Nantwich – and establish a bespoke team of experienced professionals to work alongside officers at the council to deliver this important programme and deliver financial returns as well as regeneration benefits. The council is intending to establish a wholly owned company to deliver additional flexibilities and financial benefits – as chief executive designate you will shape the future role and function of the company.

This is a career-enhancing opportunity with real impact. Your expertise will ensure we maximise the value and regeneration potential of our land-based and property assets.

You'll be central to our ambitious plans to deliver 7000 new homes over the next five years. Working on a number of strategic sites as well as two brand new settlements, we will also put in place essential infrastructure, including roads.

To succeed, you'll need expertise in land release and development projects and significant experience of working with developers, landowners and investors. Strong commercial drive is essential. Your background should include strategic mixed-use projects as well as promoting major greenfield land holdings through the planning process.
