Vistry promotes two for regional growth drive

Zac Worthington has been appointed managing director for Merseyside and Cheshire West and Matt Parkes will become managing director for Manchester and Cheshire East.

Parkes joined housebuilder Vistry in June 2023 as the divisional finance director before a promotion made him operations director in 2024.

He is now set to lead the division serving Manchester and Cheshire East as managing director.

Parkes said: “It’s been a fantastic two years as part of the region’s leadership team, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.

“I’m looking forward to continuing that momentum with such talented and committed colleagues.

“Vistry is doing great work across the region, creating sustainable, vibrant communities, and I’m excited to lead the next phase of our journey.”

Parkes replaces outgoing Joe Turner, who is moving out of the region.

Zac Worthington, who also joined Vistry in 2023, comes from a sales background and will take the reins at Vistry’s Merseyside and Cheshire West division.

He replaces Gemma Hardy, who has been promoted to the role of divisional operations director.

Worthington said: “I’m very proud to take on this role at such an exciting time for the region.

“Over the past two years, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication and talent within our team, and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum.

“Under Gemma’s leadership, we have performed strongly and have ambitious plans for future growth.

“I’m committed to driving forward that plan, creating exceptional homes and communities in partnership with our stakeholders.”

They will both be working from Bridgwater Place in Warrington’s Birchwood Park, where both business units are based.

Both Worthington and Parkes will be charged with leading Vistry’s operational expansion across the North West.

James Warrington, executive chair at Vistry Group, said: “In a relatively short time, Matt has made a tremendous impact on the Manchester and Cheshire East region.

“He’s highly respected by colleagues for his expertise, leadership, and dedication. He has already played a key role in the region’s success, and I’ve no doubt he’ll continue to drive it forward as we head into what promises to be a busy and exciting year.”

He continued: “Zac has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, commercial insight, and a deep understanding of our customers and partners.

“His experience across both the private and affordable housing sectors makes him ideally placed to lead the Merseyside and Cheshire West region into its next phase of growth. I’m confident he will continue to drive success and innovation across the business.

“I’m also delighted that Gemma will move into her new role, working closely with our leadership team across the wider division.”
