M&S Foodhall cleared for Northwich
Rothstone Estates has won Cheshire West and Chester Council’s approval to build a 23,900 sq ft store off Leicester Street.
The M&S Foodhall will sit on a 3.5-acre brownfield site owned by Rothstone Estates that was formerly a depot and car park. The plot has been vacant since 2016.
In addition to the store, the scheme includes 157 parking spaces.
The decision to approve, which was made Friday, will see M&S return to Northwich after a six-year absence after the brand shuttered its store at Barons Quay.
Savills led planning for the food store, with The Harris Partnership leading on the store design. The project team also included Arbtech, Carbon Consult, Graham Schofield Associates, CC Geotechnical, Andrew Moseley Associates, and Smeeden Foreman.
