Marshall CDP plots spec units at Northbank

The developer wants to build two units totalling 108,000 at Northbank Industrial Park in Irlam.

Plans have been submitted to Salford City Council that propose a 43,000 sq ft unit and an additional 65,000 sq ft shed.

The two warehouses would be located on vacant land off Irlam Wharf Road next to Irlam Container Terminal and the Manchester Ship Canal.

Marshall CDP’s plans also include two car parks providing a total of 93 spaces.

While there are no occupiers currently lined up for the units, the developer predicts that the units could create jobs for up to 280 people once complete.

Marshall is also bringing forward three units totalling 195,000 sq ft at a neighbouring site facing the ship canal behind the headquarters of Omega Engineering, a company that creates hardware for measuring pressure and temperature.

Other occupiers at Northbank include car dealer DSV Autos and courier UPS.

Steel stockholder Richard Austin Alloys recently lodged plans for a 37,000 sq ft headquarters at Northbank.
