LNT eyes Penwortham for latest care home
A 66-bed facility off Saxon Place is proposed to meet growing demand for specialist accommodation in the senior living sector.
LNT Care Developments has submitted an application to redevelop a 1.8-acre site into a two-storey care home to South Ribble Council.
The H-shaped block would feature 66 single occupancy flats measuring 161 sq ft. Each resident would benefit from 118 sq ft of amenity space. Amenities that could feature within LNT’s Penwortham scheme include a library, a cinema room, a clinic and a hair salon.
Sixty six is clearly the sweet spot for LNT. In recent years, the developer has proposed schemes with that number of units in Winsford, Ellesmere Port, Ribble Valley, and Burnley.
Since 1991 LNT has delivered more than 250 care homes across England, constructed by its in-house construction arm.
Rapleys is advising on planning matters and design is being done in-house.
