Gateacre Garden Centre homes approved

Macbryde Homes has secured detailed planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Gateacre Garden Centre in Woolton, Liverpool.

The construction of 10 detached family homes was approved unanimously by the city council’s planning committee.

Gateacre Garden Centre closed last summer.

The site is next to the Gateacre Village conservation area and the Woolton Village centre.

Beverley Dawson, senior planner at Hourigan Connolly, advised on the scheme.

Philip Palmer, land director at Macbryde Homes, said: “We look forward to bringing this scheme forward later this year and to delivering another high quality development in Liverpool. This development follows the completion of our successful development at The Grove in Sandfield Park in the city.”

Very sad day when the hotter shoes garden centre closed down on this site. The Christmas displays were fabulous. Soon we will have nothing in the villages of Gateacre and Woolton except hairdressers and beauty salons! More congestion to a very congested area and busy road.
