Dundee joins cities heading to MIPIM

Scotland’s return to MIPIM, powered by Place, is gaining strength with the confirmation that Scotland’s fourth-largest city will be making the trip to “forge important strategic relationships”.

Cllr Mark Flynn, Leader of Dundee City Council, said taking part in the Scotland at MIPIM delegation in March would help reinforce the “city’s work towards ambitious regeneration plans which also present exciting investment opportunities.”

Flynn went on: “Dundee is a city with tremendous potential. We are currently delivering on a £1.6bn and 30-year waterfront development and a significant strategic investment plan for our city centre while also witnessing inward investment for housing and seeing new opportunities for development in hotel and leisure.

“The city has an innovative and diversified economy, with unique strengths such as Dundee’s life sciences, digital and cyber industries, and continues to offer new propositions for investors who are seeking ventures with sustainable growth.

“Through engaging with global investors and partners at MIPIM, we are looking to forge new important strategic relationships which can help drive Dundee further forward as a dynamic and modern city.”

Dundee will join Glasgow and Edinburgh among the delegation as well as private sector partners that include Saffery, Robertson, MLA, PMP, Civic, OOBE, Drum, Brodies and Harley Haddow.

Scotland at MIPIM will benefit from its own stand within the UK Hub and a schedule of discussions both on stage and private to promote Scotland to the international property market.

This is a city that has several growth sectors and a pipeline of exciting opportunities. Having Leader Mark Flynn accept Place Media Group’s invitation and join the Scotland at MIPIM delegation will ensure investors hear exactly what they need to in order to make decisions on how to invest in Dundee.”

Dundee is such a great success story of regenerating a stunning waterfront that had been sorely overlooked for decades – the rail station makeover, the internationally renowned V&A museum, securing delivery of offices, and some fantastic public realm and artwork. Please can PNW get Dundee City Council and Liverpool City Council in a room together so LCC can hear how they have done it, and lessons learned along the way! Nuala Gallagher studied there, so I’m sure PNW could play matchmaker!
