RentGuarantor partners with Place to open doors for renters
RentGuarantor and Place will work together on four filmed roundtables in Manchester and Birmingham during 2027, bringing local authorities together on the question that decides who gets a home: access to the private rented sector.
RentGuarantor, the UK’s only AIM-listed professional rent guarantor, stands in for the guarantor a tenant cannot provide, at no cost to landlords or agents.
Bruce Evans, chief commercial officer at RentGuarantor, said: “Across the country, people who can afford their rent are turned away for want of someone to stand behind them. We built RentGuarantor to stand behind them, and Place puts us alongside the councils and housing leaders in the Midlands and the North who see that problem up close.”
Evans added: “Lacking a guarantor is a frustrating barrier. If your parents rent, if your family lives abroad, if there is simply no one to ask, the system shuts you out however reliably you would pay. Councils already use us to open that door for people on benefits, and we want to open many more of them here.
“Some of the most ambitious thinking on housing in the country is happening in the Midlands and the North West. These roundtables put us at the table.”

RentGuarantor’s work includes a strategic mandate with the National Residential Landlords Association, representing 110,000 landlords, a UK-first combined guarantor-and-deposit product with mydeposits, a partnership with social enterprise Beam that houses over 500 renters a year, and private rented access schemes with councils including Newcastle, Northumberland, Hull, Liverpool and Mansfield.
