Victorian Plumbing takes 544,000 sq ft Leyland shed
The listed online bathroom retailer has signed an agreement to enter into a 20-year lease on a distribution warehouse as it looks to consolidate its North West operations at Farington Park.
Caddick Construction is currently building the 544,000 sq ft industrial unit for asset manager Canmoor, on behalf of ultimate owner Goldman Sachs, on a 40-acre plot immediately west of the existing Lancashire Business Park between junctions 28 and 29 of the M6.
Victorian Plumbing hopes to move into the distribution centre this autumn.
Mark Radcliffe, founder and chief executive of Victorian Plumbing, said: “This new facility represents another exciting milestone for the business, providing us with capacity to manage growth in the long-term while further establishing Victorian Plumbing’s position as the number one bathroom retailer in the UK.
“I am also delighted that this new facility will create additional jobs and further support our investment in the local area.”
Caddick Developments, which is the development manager for the project, won planning permission for the scheme last April.
KPP Architects designed the Farington Park project. Urban Green was the landscape architect for the scheme and provided landscape planning, biodiversity net gain, ecology, and arboriculture services as well.
Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank are the letting agents for Farington Park.
Caddick and Canmoor were contacted for comment.
