Hurstwood Holdings buys up Cheshire, Lancashire commercial properties
Wilmslow office block Brook House and Rawtenstall warehouse Rossford House have been acquired by the Manchester-based investor, two of three recent deals that have seen the value of the company’s portfolio grow by around £20m.
Hurstwood Holdings already has plans to commit at least £250,000 to refurbishing the 6,200 sq ft Brook House.
Situated off Church Street in Wilmslow town centre, the property is currently vacant.
Under Hurstwood Holdings’ plans, it will be fixed up to host a series of modernised 2,000 sq ft office suites as well as a 2,000 sq ft ground floor retail space.
Williams Sillitoe was the selling agent for the off-market deal between Hurstwood Holdings and previous owner Marquee Estates. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Acquiring Rossford House sees Hurtwood Holdings complete the formation a triumvirate of warehouses in Rawtenstall, with the 21,000 sq ft warehouse joining the nearby Orient One and Station House in the company’s commercial portfolio. This was also an off market deal for an undisclosed price.
The third acquisition was the largest: the 60,200 sq ft 7 Lochside View in Edinburgh Park.
The three purchases have seen the company’s commercial portfolio grow from just over £400m to more than £420m, according to Hurstwood Holdings.

The company’s executive chairman, Stephen Ashworth, said: “These three acquisitions demonstrate the continued momentum of our investment strategy and take Hurstwood Holdings’ national commercial property portfolio beyond the £420m mark, totalling more than 5m sq ft of office and industrial space.
“Brook House gives us an outstanding opportunity to create premium office accommodation in one of Cheshire’s most desirable locations, while Rossford House further strengthens our already substantial presence in Rossendale by completing an important piece of the jigsaw there,” he said.
Hurstwood Holdings has ambitions to spend another £10m on acquisitions before the end of the year.
