UCLan plans in for £30m Engineering Innovation Centre

The University of Central Lancashire has submitted a planning application for the next project in its £200m Preston campus masterplan.

Subject to approval, the £30m Engineering Innovation Centre is due to be completed in the spring of 2018.

The EIC has been identified as a signature project within the Government’s Growth Deal programme and was awarded £10.5m via the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership.

BDP is advising on engineering while SimpsonHaugh & Partners and Reiach & Hall are the architects.

UCLan’s £200m campus masterplan will be delivered in Preston over the next 10 years.

UCLan is currently on site with the first major project in the programme, the demolition of the 1960s Fylde Building to make way for a multi-million pound student support facility, forming part of a new gateway to the University.
