Story Homes plans next 260 houses in Penrith
Phase three of the housebuilder’s Fairways project would nearly double the size of the development thus far.
The first 98 residences at Story Homes’ Fairways have already completed, with construction underway on the 194 houses that make up phase two.
Proposals for the third phase are due to come forward soon, however an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Opinion application submitted to Westmorland and Furness Council gives a taste of what to expect.
Fairways phase three will be situated on 26 acres of grazing land off of Green Lane and Inglewood Road in Penrith. The neighbourhood would comprise 260 homes, built on 20 acres of the site. A community centre is also included in the proposals.
The homes would be a mix of detached and semi-detached houses with between two and six bedrooms. Affordable housing is expected in the project, according to the screening opinion submitted by planner Marrons.
Primary access to the stie would be from Inglewood Road, with secondary access from a link to the first phase of Fairways and Salkeld Road.
The site is situated within flood zone one, however, the housebuilder said it was confident it could mitigate any flooding issues through a site-specific flood risk assessment, strategy, and sustainable drainage systems.
