Glencar wraps up at Martland Park
The contractor has achieved practical completion on a 102,000 sq ft industrial & logistics unit for Hillwood UK at the Wigan development.
Glencar worked with a project team including Goodrich Consulting, UMC Architects, engineer Baynham Meikle, and Cundall.
BREEAM Excellent status has been achieved for the 101,805 sq ft unit, which features a 12-metre haunch height, first-floor office accommodation with Cat A fit-out, and sustainability measures including photovoltaic panels, electric vehicle charging points, and cycle facilities.
Works also included comprehensive groundworks, attenuation, and drainage infrastructure to support the site.
Billed as Wigan 100, the scheme is located off Walthew House Lane, with blue chip neighbouring occupiers including Makita, Hein and Arrow XL in what is a flagship employment park for Wigan.
This marks Glencar’s second completed project with Hillwood UK, for which it has now begun work on a third scheme, Hillwood Park in Luton.
