Start line in sight for £120m Liverpool resi

Jarron Developments has triggered site enabling and demolition works at the Pumpfields site, ahead of a 401-home project.

Jarron said that preparatory works are now set to get underway at the vacant city centre site, now rebranded from Metalworks to The Forge. A Section 80 notice has been submitted to Liverpool City Council.

The removal of the former Marble Hall café, and clearance of the site will mark the official start of the pre-construction phase for The Forge.

Planning permission was secured in February 2025 with a unanimous verdict, but the plans then had to return to LCC committee due to a procedural matter, sailing through with little fuss. A legal agreement and decision notice were then published in April.

Designed by Liverpool architect Falconer Chester Hall, The Forge is billed as a “complete lifestyle destination”.
Facilities will include workspace, a residents’ lounge, cinema and dedicated fitness hub. The development will also feature a panoramic rooftop terrace, including a running track.

Jarron said that further updates on the construction timeline for The Forge will be announced in the coming weeks.
