Starbucks and 80-bed care home planned for Offerton

Torsion Care and Thistlewood Properties are seeking consent to demolish the existing four-storey BT building off Brundrett Street and deliver a mixed-use scheme in its place.

A Starbucks drive-thru coffee shop and an 80-bed care home are proposed on the two-acre site in Offerton, a scheme that would address local need, according to planning documents.

Torsion’s care home would be L-shaped and constructed to the rear of the plot on the part currently occupied by the four-storey BT office building.

Alderley Edge-based Thistlewood would deliver the drive-thru cafe. It would be built on the footprint of the two-storey industrial building. Both of the site’s existing buildings are vacant.

Spawforths, Edgeplan, Dudleys, Redmore, and Futures Ecology are advising on the scheme.
