Seaside Morecambe apartments completed
Placefirst’s Bay Mill, a £4.5m apartment scheme just off Sandylands Promenade, is ready for residents.
What was a one-acre brownfield site, has now been transformed into 42 apartments, with a short walk from the coast.
There are 20 single-bed flats and 22 two-bed apartments.
Church Lukas was the principal designer of the plans.
Tyson Construction was the contractor.
The housing is predominantly two-to-three storeys, although some properties along Marine Road West are four-to-five storeys.
This project is a second phase of Placefirst’s Morecambe West End masterplan. 107 homes have already been completed as part of the scheme.
Complete Sustainability Solutions ensured homes have sustainable credentials, with an EPC rating of B across the whole site.
In addition, solar panels and EV charging points are provided to residents.
There are 30 parking spaces across the development.
Phil Jones, projects director at Placefirst, said: “Increasing the availability of high-quality housing that delivers lasting value for residents and the wider community requires collective effort.
“As local authorities across the country consider how to boost housing supply, and our sector seeks to go even further to bolster its response to housing demand, private-public partnerships will be vital in successful delivery.”
Others who were on the project team include Roscoe civil and structural, TACE M&E and Markhams Employers Agent.

Placefirst is behind many projects across the North West, including Deansgate Gardens in Bolton.
Above market rents which no doubt will be inflated year on year. Just what the local community really needs.

I’m sick of seeing these new developments with less parking spaces than properties. The planners do these studies and say ownership of vehicles in the area is only xx cars per household with no forward thought that development may attract more to the area in question who may happen to want to drive.
