Refurb lined up for Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa
Harland and Poston Group is to undertake a multi-phase renovation of the high-end Sefton hotel to modernise its facilities.
Work is to begin on the refurbishment of 106 rooms, to be delivered in phases through to 2027, which will reset the Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa.
Ancillary spaces and amenities are also to be upgraded. The hotel’s gym will be renovated, and event and leisure spaces will be given a touch-up.

In addition, Harland and Poston Group will oversee the construction of a new wedding venue with 24 guest lodges.
The hotel expects to be back in full operation by 2028, with the wedding lodges the final piece of the puzzle.
David Poston, chief executive of the Harland and Poston Group, said: “Formby Hall is a symbol of British hospitality and leisure.
“By opening this project to individual investors, we are combining heritage with opportunity – delivering a secure investment model while elevating an iconic resort for future generations.
“This renovation will not only enhance guest experiences but also contribute significantly to the local economy.”

The refurbishment is to be funded by an investment programme structured by Harland and Poston Group’s investment company, HP Invest.
HP Invest is offering three investment options. With projected fixed annual returns of 6%, 7.5%, or 10%, investors could realise a five-year return on investment of 30%, 37.5%, or 50%, with capital fully asset-backed.

Certainly a quality looking refurbishment and another boost for the reputation of golfing facilities in the Liverpool City Region.
As an aside did we ever hear anymore of the promised hotel extension at Allerton Manor golf club in South Liverpool, they got the go ahead from the Planning Inspector after the City Planning Committee had initially refused the application.

Not sure about the conservatory. So beautiful to be part of nature in the summer. A big draw for outdoor types.
