Premier Inn bids for 20-bed Stockport extension
A proposal from Whitbread to expand a hotel just off the A6 from 66 to 86 rooms has been lodged with Stockport Council.
The 20-bed extension will see the attached former Bamford Arms restaurant revamped into Premier Inn rooms and connected to the existing hotel via a small link corridor.
Plans submitted on Whitbread’s behalf by Walsingham Planning also seek consent to allow the hotel’s food and beverage offer to be relocated.
Stockport town centre lies 1.5 kilometres from the hotel off Buxton Road.
Whitbread has been rapidly expanding its Premier Inn brand across the North West, last week, a 276-key hotel within the £1bn MIX Manchester campus was approved by Manchester City Council.
In addition, West Didsbury’s Premier Inn put forward a bid for an extension to Manchester City Council in 2024.
